Most of the songs I start never get finished. I usually get bored or feel like it's something I would never want to listen to or want to waste any more time on.
I went through a phase of stripping some of them down and then toying with them on one of the reel to reels. There are honestly 20 or so of these sorts of things sitting on my computer, so I just picked a few of them randomly and uploaded. The machine I like to use is pretty unruly. The pinch roller is shot, so occasionally I have to push the tape back into place. It also has a right motor that glitches every so often. I also have a bad habit of using tape I got from an older gentleman at work once. He had transcribed reels and reels of various things. I doubt he ever thought some guy would be letting them leech into his music. It all adds to the character I guess.
Wolf II was made from the pads and synth parts of Wolf while messing around during the recording of the White Flashes tape. The last song is a song from a few years ago that got some attention while I was going by the name Harbour. Not too many months after that it got redone just a little bit.
I think there's something really great about the sound you can force out just messing around like this, some of my favorite songs are "warped" songs. The reversed and half speed versions of Eno & Fripp's Heavenly Music Corporation are amazing and side two of Neu! 2 is bizarre to hear if your familiar with Neuschnee & Super at all.
